Workshop 29/1/2010 PART 3

In the next task, we are asked to think of a cause/issue/message to speak out in this project. Having been working with a Charity tee for Haiti Earthquake appeal, I feel is something maybe I could push forward in this project. So I thought of ways to promote and put the message across.

- Contacts through magazines/shops
- Youtube
- Facebook
- Email
- Word of mouth
- Language
- Reporting skills
- Church
- Body
- Clothes
- Blogs
- Phone
- Photography
- Music
- Transport
- Family/friends

Workshop 29/1/2010 PART 2

In the second part, we were to think of things which can be at our disposal. Which means any advertising devices which we can do on our own.

You? - clothing , language

Personal Possessions? - phone, mac, body, clothes, books, DVDs

Home/accomondation? - internet, phone line

Space? - studio, home, park

Family/friend's contacts? - Industrial links, pioneers, designers, shop managers

Language/sound? - prayers, poems, codes, manifesto

Talents? - Knowledge, fashion, photography, cultures, piano, cello

Other? - Senses

Thoughts: It is interesting to see how many things we can do within our powers and doesn't cost a thing. Definitely a list to come back on in future projects.

Workshop 29/1/2010 PART 1

In today's workshop, we were told to name as many Advertising devices as possible and then narrow them down, categorize them into groups and place them on paper.

Here are just some of the devices I thought of straight away:
Viral, facebook, Myspace, conversation, Youtube, print, radio, BTV, books, email, walls, letters, packaging, internet, msn, tees, balloons, pop ups, bills, teletext, tv shopping, tags, landmarks, oysters, twitter, bebo, postcards, stamps, colour, sight, smell, hear, touch, taste, flash mop, chants, songs, logos, typo, artworks, statues, symbols, prayers, bible, beliefs and Gods.

We were then asked a few questions regarding the devices we mentioned:

Do we need permission?
What is traditional?
What will break the law?
It has a limit budge (£200)?
Have to include a professional?

After crossing out some of the devices after the questions, we came to conclude that a lot of the devices can be done ourselves and doesn't cost a fortune to use. I have to say its a fast and easy way to make us realize the different things we can do by ourselves.
